Hieracium norvegicum Fr. subsp. trothanum Zahn

Distribution
This plant is an endemic plant of the city of Halle (Saxony-Anhalt). It occurs at easily accessible places along the Saale river. The number of plants is declining during the last years. Our plants are from the Klausberge.

Biology and growth
The plant is a perennial. Seed set and germination rates are good.

Conservation
Seeds may be sown in late autumn (November-December) directly into pots. Best germination rates are obtained after frost. Later the plants are cultivated in 9-10 cm pots. The plants are grown in a poor soil with some loam and are watered moderately, so that the pots become not too wet.

Places of conservation
Plants are in the Botanical Gardens of Halle.
