Distribution
Iris sibirica is a Eastern European species that has its northwestern distribution
boundary in Germany. Due to melioration and changing land use the population is declining.
The plants are from near Lödderitz.
Biology and growth
The plants is a slowly growing summer green perennial. Flowers were visited by large insects.
Conservation
Individuals were divided and a part of them remains in the garden. Seeds are produced in good
quantity. They need stagnant moisture for germination.

Plants are at the Kapenmühle.
